Round robin hostess is Gail at Quilting Gail and logo design by Brenda at Songbird Designs
It was 2023 that I last participated in SAHRR (Stay At Home Round Robin). It was a half-hearted effort - I changed my starting block twice, and I never finished it. I had decided not to do one again. Yes it is fun to interact with other quilters/bloggers and see their choices, but I've never been good without a pattern, and the struggle to creatively add borders of stars or flying geese makes my head hurt. But one look at Kate's pull has me wanting to do it for 2026. So I decided to rethink my plan of attack.
This is the last SAHRR that I actually finished - in 2022
Here is the last SAHRR I completed, details in this post. The sad news is I have NO idea what happened to it. Is it on the back of a quilt or a wall hanging? No record of it on any of my blog posts, but I'll keep looking.
The round robin begins on January 21, with center, or starting blocks being shown on January 14. This time instead of borders, I will do something a bit different, probably not borders. Yes I know this defeats the purpose of the "round" in the robin, but it is my quilt, and the quilt police will not be allowed into my sewing room in 2026. I have Pinterest pages saved and ideas swirling for my center block, so bring on the challenges!

I look forward to following your SAHRR progress. I participated last year and my quilt is still in the flimsy stage. Maybe I'll finish it this year. I know what you mean about making your head hurt. I'm not very creative when it comes to designing a quilt as I go. I'm sitting this one out. I really like your 2022 quilt. Hope you find it!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I’m glad I’m not the only one who has things disappear never to be seen again. The SAHR sounds interesting; I will wait and see what the center block looks like before I decide. Good luck on yours!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your plans ma'am. Just like people said "plan your work, and work your plan". 2026 is here bringing fresh chances, new energy, and endless possibilities. Let’s make it count.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Indonesia
Isn't it just fun that we can make up our own rules in our own quilting journey.
ReplyDeletegood luck!!
ReplyDeleteI remember your 2022 project, it's really pretty. Hopefully it turns up. I'm with you this year, I'm doing things a bit differently too. So I'm with you, no quilt police allowed.
ReplyDeleteI incorporated two clues into one round in my last SAHRR; do what makes you happy. I picked my starting block today and pulled some coordinating bits of fabric to start with. I thought this would be a good time to practice with my push-button Jamome. Haven't sewn a stitch since July 1!
ReplyDeleteI follow the SAHRR; but haven't joined in the actual fun. I'm inspired by how people incorporate and interpret the clues! I bet you are successful with your new plan!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteI hope so Terry - thanks for visiting!
DeleteThat's the great thing about the SAHRR - you do what makes you happy! I think figuring out the quilt border math can be challenging - I keep thinking I'm going to get better at it, but it's challenging every year. 😜 It will be fun to see what you make, Linda!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! SAHRR sounds like a great way to work from your stash. It will be fun to see what you come up with. As for me, I really am trying to concentrate on my on-going projects. Of course, I say that every year...
ReplyDeleteYou know I've never followed that "round" part! LOL. And this year I am not sure what I am doing, but I am leaning towards loosely following the rounds. But I must get my center block going, thanks for the reminder. Oh, and my 2024 SAHRR is not even close to done, it still needs 2 more rounds finished and will be over 100" square when done.
ReplyDeleteA SAHRR sounds like fun. I'm curious to see how you will tweak or completely override the rules to serve your way of quilting.
ReplyDeleteI like your plan and can’t wait to see what you do! Its your quilt and you get to do it your way. Haven’t decided on what I am working on but will be this week!
ReplyDeleteYou have a good plan in mind, and I'm looking forward to seeing your progress. And no, no quilt police! Things going missing, yup, I'm with ya! Still can't figure out where I put a couple of things!
ReplyDeleteI love that you are making it your own!! you will be more apt to finish it. And Quilt Police - Bah!! haha!!
