Yes it has been a minute since I did an I Like Thursday post. But I still read many of your posts, because they are, well, uplifting to me!
I like LeeAnna of Not Afraid of Color. Every month she tirelessly delivers interesting prompts, sponsors I Like Thursday, and visits other bloggers' I Like Thursday posts. And on a personal note, I love her open and kind heart. I'm sure all of you appreciate her as much as I do, so you get it, don't you! She was the inspiration behind my decision to post about my likes today, so thank you LeeAnna.
I like any kind of storm cloud, and I often see mammatus clouds (see photo at top of post) associated with stormy weather. National Weather Service describes them as "Drooping underside (pouch-like appearance) of a cumulonimbus cloud in its latter stage of development. Mammatus most often are seen hanging from the anvil of a severe thunderstorm, but do not produce severe weather. They can accompany non-severe storms as well." These preceded a storm yesterday, and I had to run out to get a shot of them!
It's nice to hear from you again! I'm sure you do like weather, aren't you a storm chaser? I'm not a big fan of jello salads but my MIL sure was. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteThose are interesting clouds, Linda! I always appreciate your weather knowledge. We are seeing some darkening clouds to our west right now - fingers crossed they will bring us some precip! Gus sure looks happy and healthy. Your mother's orange jello salad sounds yummy! My mom had some favorite jello salads recipes, too - I miss them.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post. Lovely colours, beautiful cats π Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ Warm greetings from a 68 year old lady living in Montreal, Canada π¨π¦
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. I could not find an email address for you to thank you for stopping by my blog!
DeleteSo thrilled to see you here. I've checked so often but didn't want to pressure you, :). Thanks for that recipe...made my mouth water too as I love jello salads. Sometimes Mom would fancy up plain jello with chopped apples. Aren't even the clouds fancy these days...who knew they had such names.
ReplyDeleteIt was so good to see a post from you. It’s always nice to hear what’s going on. I am saving that Mallow Ring recipe. My mother used to make something she called “Orange Fluff” that sounds quite similar. I loved it and could have eaten the whole bowl.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know those types of clouds are called mammatus. They are striking! I am so happy for you and Gus! Love that they all get along so well. I have never had a Jello salad. I can see it being refreshing.

what stormy skies they have been here too with some big loud thunder also
ReplyDeleteIt's been pretty stormy this spring in OK and TX. Thankfully we are getting a break this weekend. Gus and Jack are very handsome kitties. I've never been a fan of Jello salads, I think it's a texture thing. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteFun orange salad! We had "Watergate salad" on Easter and it was a huge hit! The bowl was scraped to the bottom!!!
ReplyDeleteThe orange salad is interesting; I love the bowl you would serve it in. Sorry you missed the wedding...hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteOh crazy skies!! and your kitties - so cute together!!
ReplyDeleteThose are some happy kitties! I bet Gus never expected to be living his best life with you. I haven't had a jello salad since I was a kid...makes my mouth water just thinking about it. One of our favorite summer salads is a Quinoa salad, served with either fish or chicken.
ReplyDeleteI like that you posted! I miss seeing your posts. I am sorry you weren't able to attend your grandson's wedding, I am sure they missed you too.
ReplyDeleteI love the before the storm picture – those clouds! Gus looks so happy…what a blessing! Thank you for sharing your Mama’s recipe! Sounds delicious! Take good care!
ReplyDeleteGus is a pretty cat. It looks like he is enjoying his indoor life to the fullest! The jello recipe looks delicious—I may try it next time I have people to feed.
ReplyDeleteI love a good congealed salad. My favorite is spiced peach in orange Jello.
