Christmas House Tour and Upcoming 2026!

Nativity on cross stitched Village in the Snowfall table topper I made in 2023
Like most of you, I've been decorating for Christmas since I was a child, and I still love it. We have whittled down our Christmas decorations over the years, and a couple years ago we thought we were done with the tree and sold it. But my husband missed it so much that he bought a very nice gently-used one on Marketplace last year! So even though our space is a bit crowded, we are enjoying a tree again. And as you will see, I love lighted table decor, especially changing multi-colored ones. We probably spend more on batteries for them than the decorations cost!

The outside of our home is decorated for the first time since we moved here in 2020. We purchased what we are calling "Faux-Vee" lights (real Govee lights cost $400 more!) and a nice young off-duty fireman installed them for us - no ladders for us! They are permanent lights that can be programmed for any holiday or even as security lighting.

I wish I had gotten a full-length shot of our tree! We put it in front of my husband's desk this year.

Pfaltzgraff Winterberry dish on the left was filled with on Christmas Day.

My Granny Mitchell's Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies!

My favorite candle ever is the LED one on the left.
I purchased two of them and they have a remote control!

The house is back to normal, and my sewing room beckons. I'm not doing a year-end review or a preview of upcoming projects, but among many started projects and squirrels, I do have two UFOs, a few cross stitch patterns, a couple Christmas stockings, and a set of embroidered Christmas ornaments I hope to finish in 2026.

  3. Your house is so pretty, I love the table lighting too. Smart idea to have the lights permanently installed outside your home.

  4. What a beautiful Christmas setting. Thanks for sharing! Tackling UFOs is never anything to sneeze at. The projects get set aside or placed in time out for a reason. I wish you luck in your plans to finish some of them. May 2026 be blessed and joy filled.

  5. Your house looks very festive, Linda! The house lights are so neat - and they can change to different colors? (I'm thinking Denver Broncos - orange and blue, lol!) The tree is Christmas decoration I would miss the most, so I'm with your hubby. I always take down the tree and put everything away on January 1st, and I'm ready for that nice cleaned up feeling, too. Happy New Year!

  6. Your home is beautifully decorated for Christmas. I love the outside lights!! I was wondering if you had some help with them when I saw your IG post. No one more skilled than a fireman, I'd say. The boys look quite handsome in their bandanas. I look forward to seeing all you create in the new year.

  8. Your home looked very festive for the holiday. I wasn't going to put a tree up this year, but My Guy really wanted one, so I did. Your sugar cookies are so pretty. Mom didn't bake any this year, so we missed out on that treat (none of us have mastered the sugar cookie the way she has). Hope you've already spent some productive time in your sewing room.

  10. Wow, what a beautiful home and such outstanding decorations, Linda. What you have created looks so elegant and lovely, festive and restful too. All the very best of life to you both in 2026.

  11. Your decorations are so fun, Linda! My husband is not so much into decorating and we had no company planned this season, so I skipped it this year. The nice thing is I enjoyed my sister in laws decorations. The dogs look great with their stylish bandanas!

  13. Many times in the past, I thought about getting rid of some of the Christmas decorations that I have. One year I was not into it in a big way and I didn’t put up a Christmas tree, something really unheard of for me because it has never happened before — I think I was being rebellious. I have to say that it was a very peaceful and relaxing holiday. Since then, however, I have really been into it and for the past three years have put up four trees! I completely understand about batteries costing more than some of the decorations. I’ve started to buy them in bulk.
